BNI (Business Network International) is a business and professional networking organization that offers members the opportunity to share ideas, contacts and most importantly, referrals.

With over 76,000 members in 3,800 plus chapters worldwide BNI is the world’s largest professional referral organization.

BNI provides a structured and supportive system of giving and receiving business. It does this by providing an environment in which personal relationships can be developed with dozens of other qualified business professionals. By establishing this “formal” referral relationship with other people, each member has the opportunity to substantially increase his or her business.

BNI bases its program on a philosophy of “Givers Gain.” This entails a belief that ‘what goes around comes around’ and if I help you and you help me, we all benefit. Operating as a team, each chapter understands the concept of Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM). The TEAM motto was actually our BNI annual theme for 2003.

By working as a team, an average BNI chapter is able to generate about 100-120 referrals per month. This represents tens of thousands of dollars - all generated monthly by methodically following the methods and strategies evolved during BNI’s past twenty years.

When you think about referral marketing, there is only one premier name that comes to mind.

Every member of BNI agrees to the following code of ethics.

  1. I will provide the quality of services at the prices that I have quoted.
  2. I will be truthful with the members and their referrals.
  3. I will build goodwill and trust among members and their referrals.
  4. I will take responsibility for following upon the referrals I receive.
  5. I will display a positive and supportive attitude with BNI members.
  6. I will live up to the ethical standards of my profession.
